We had spent the November day I dreamt up this pattern driving up and down the shore of Lake Superior, and there was a strong offshore wind, creating these ripples on the surface of the already riled up lake, and that’s how the name was born.
To create the vision I had, I stacked some yarn overs in a way that created a wave of them up the hat, giving a ripple effect. I also wanted the same ease of the ditch-the-stitch-marker-style of some of my other patterns, like the Gales of November Hat. I am so pleased with how it turned out.
The hat is written for 3 sizes: child, adult s/m, and adult l/xl. The pattern calls for Super Bulky Yarn, and is knit in the round from the bottom up.
Uses US 11 - 8.0mm and US 15 - 10.0mm needles.
